Take appropriate safety precautions
1. Wear eye protection (safety glasses).
2. Do not smoke next to the vehicle when performing repairs.
3. Work in a well-ventilated area.
4. Wear skin protection (such as gloves and closed toe shoes).
5. Recover refrigerant before making repairs.
6. Its highly recommended that check and add enough Oil to ac compressors before the replacement;
Installation
Attention Please:
Be sure to clean the air conditioning system before installation, otherwise it will cause compression broken.
1. Remove compressors (Remove the A/C belt from the A/C compressors pulley. May involve loosening the belt tensioner (if equipped).
2. receiver drier or accumulator, orifice tube or expansion valve.
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
4. Remove the bolt that secures refrigerant lines to the A/C compressor. Inspect A/C lines for any contamination such as metal or excessive dirt inside of them. If you find any contamination the system will need to be cleaned.Flush the condenser and evaporator using NON-OIL BASED A/C flush. On expansion valve systems. The valve must be removed before the evaporator can be flushed. Flushed condensers from outlet to inlet and evaporators from inlet to outlet.
5. Drain all the oil from the new compressors ,if you compressors has a drain plug you will need to open it up and drain what oil is in there too.
6. Install half oil charge into the compressors and the remainder throughout the system. Turn compressors shaft 8-10 full revolutions to insure front seal and other internal parts are lubricated.
7. Install new receiver drier or accumulator and new orifice tube or expansion valve.
8. Evacuate the A/C system for a minimum of one hour.
9. After evacuation install half the refrigerant charge and let the system set for 1 minute. This will allow the refrigerant to pick up oil and spread more evenly throughout the system.
10. Turn on the A/C system with the engine running and check to see if cold air is now coming out of the air duct.
11. If the A/C system is functioning ,you may find that your electric radiators fan and compressors clutch will be cycling off and on depending on the outside air temperature.
Why the compressors still failed after replacing?
1. 85% of installation failure caused by lacking of lubrication (oil) or system restrictions: 60% of the oil in the A/C system stays in the compressors, so the compressors should contain 4 ounces if the total amount of oil in the system is 6 ounces. As the refrigerant circulates through the system, it carries the oil and returns it to the compressor. If the failed compressors has none or insufficient oil, that means a refrigerant leaks or a restriction of the system which is preventing the return procedure. Meanwhile, debris and restrictions in the system may prevent the right amount of oil from getting to the compressor. So if you do not patch up the leaks or revise the restriction, the new compressors will fail.
2. High pressure: clutch is burnt out or the system provide inproper voltage to the clutch or the compressors shaft seals or body gasket leaks, then the compressors defect is caused by high pressure. What's more, the malfunction of fan clutch or electric condenser fan can cause poor airflow over the condenser which prevents the required heat transferring for the A/C system.
