Standby PCVs on TFSI engines are very fragile, and internal diaphragms may rupture over time or during heavy pressurization, which may lead to excessive ventilation into intake manifolds at idle speed (smoke from exhaust tailpipes) or loss of pressurization while driving, which may lead to other problems.
Traditionally, we have installed a stop tank that can completely remove PCV and collect oil vapors from the engine, but if you want a cheaper and simpler solution, you can remove the original PCV and use our PCV toolkit to transfer breath to the rear cam cover outlet.
