Description:
A lathe center is a tool that has been ground to a point to accurately position a workpiece on an axis. It has an included angle of 60. The primary use of a center is to ensure concentric work is produced; this allows the workpiece to be transferred between machining operations without any loss of accuracy. A part may be turned in a lathe, sent off for hardening and tempering and then ground between centers in a cylindrical grinder. A center is also used to support longer workpieces where the cutting forces would deflect the work excessively, reducing the finish and accuracy of the workpiece.
Features:
- Conical part is made from T10 steel, quenching hardness 55 to 60 HRC, the main body part is made from 40Cr steel, quenching hardness 45 to 50 HRC.
- High quality bearing design, using high speed bearing for high accuracy.
- Dust proof seal preventing cutting dust enter into bearing thus prolong service time.
- Designed for lathe in medium speed and medium load environment.
- Well balanced and smooth for effectiveturning. Ideal to support your work at the tailstock end of your lathe.
