Attention should be paid to keep the body warm, especially to prevent cold in winter. After the limb blocks blood flow, the cold-resistance ability is low, and frostbite is easy to occur. The tourniquet is not covered, so it is easy to observe the bleeding at any time.

The tied or fixed part should be on the external side of the limb or in front of the tourniquet during the transfer of the patient. The injury and condition of the affected limb should be closely observed. For example, whether the tourniquet falls off, the environment of severe pain and purple color should be adjusted.

If the tourniquet is loosened and bleeding is serious, the bleeding artery can be compressed by the hand. If the wound does not bleed, the tourniquet should not be continued to be used but not removed immediately. The tourniquet should be maintained in a loosened state and continued observation should be conducted to remove the tourniquet after the bleeding is stopped.

When the tourniquet is stopped, it should be loosened slowly to prevent sudden increase of limb blood flow, injury of capillaries, influence of blood redistribution of the whole body and even drop of blood pressure. After the tourniquet is removed, the injured limb should be gently touched to relieve cold, numb and other uncomfortable feelings.
