Sweet Scarlet Nantes Roots - Grow orange, nearly coreless carrots with a tender bite and classic cylindrical shape. Harvest roots around 6-7 inches for fresh garden snacks, salads, roasting, soups and juicing. 1000-Seed Yield Range - At a 20-70% productive-plant range and 0.14 lbs average per plant, 1000 seeds could yield about 28-98 LBS in good conditions; actual harvest varies with germination, weather, spacing, timing, and care. Direct Sow For Straight Roots - Sow 1/4 inch deep outdoors. Use the 55-75 F seed-zone guide and keep the surface evenly moist through the 14-21 day sprouting period. Wait for suitable conditions instead of transplanting indoor starts. Give Each Root Room - Grow in full sun and loose soil. Thin to 2-3 inches apart, with rows 12-18 inches apart; foliage reaches 12-18 inches. Allow about 65-75 days to harvest, depending on conditions. Use containers at least 12 inches deep. One Packet, Future Plantings - 1,000 Scarlet Nantes carrot seeds in a waterproof RDR Seeds packet with growing guidance, dated for the current or next planting season. Store cool, dry and tightly sealed. Carrot seed generally remains viable for about 3-4 years under good storage conditions; germination declines with age.
