Top-tier actress Evelyn suffers from imposter syndrome, relying on self-harm (choking, pain) to numb her sense of unworthiness. When her new assistant Claire uncovers her secret, she goes from passively enduring Evelyn's control to gradually seizing the upper hand. As the two are drawn into a relationship of dependency, control, and push-pull tension, Evelyn's childhood trauma is exposed, and Claire transforms from a mere tool into someone with real power over her. Their bond is pushed to a breaking point when Evelyn is drugged and Claire saves her life, fundamentally changing everything between them.
